What is the project NGTM about?
Target of Next Generation Transport Management project is to replace the current 4Flow/inet/Alpega or TO-Desk Transport Management System (TMS) with a SupplyOn System to strengthen the seamless integration of transport and material management.
What is the scope of the project?
For the time being, the scope includes Overland Inbound, Outbound and Plant-to-Plant shipments of all European plants (but excluding parcel shipments), which were commissioned by the Transport Management Center in Budapest. System change is basically related to the currently implemented volume mentioned above.
How do suppliers need to be involved?
This project will affect various logistics areas such as creation of Forwarder Pickup Advice (FPA), Advanced Shipping Notification (ASN) and exception management due to software change. Suppliers must use the new system to register/announce their transports.
Your benefits are
- Consistent end-to-end process
- Pre-populated data in the Forwarder Pickup Advice (FPA), as this is derived from material order messages (e.g. purchase order, delivery instruction)
- No double data entry, Forwarder Pickup Advice (FPA) mainly pre-filled by demand information, Advanced Shipping Notification (ASN) pre-filled by Forwarder Pickup Advice (FPA).
- Better transparency due to joint references
- The SupplyOn platform is user-friendly and bundles all Bosch business data in one place
- User management by suppliers for their own users is possible (self-service)
Please find the description of general NGTM process
Upon receiving material demands, shown as so called due delivery in SupplyOn Supply Chain Collaboration System (SCC), a Forwarder Pickup Advice (FPA) has to be created. The transport management system collects Forwarder Pickup Advices (FPAs) from different suppliers, consolidates and optimizes them into loads and orders the loads with carriers. Forwarder Pickup Advice (FPA) is also the base for Advanced Shipping Notification (ASN), which is then sent upon actual pickup of the goods.
