Change impact on transport ordering/updating processes
The creation of Forwarder Pickup Advice (FPA) in SupplyOn SCC replaces the TO creation in 4flow/inet/Alpega.
The Advanced Shipping Notification (ASN) will continue to be created as usual.
SupplyOn WebEDI suppliers
Suppliers which so far alreadycreated Advanced Shipping Notification (ASNs) in SupplyOn now first need to create a Forwarder Pickup Advice (FPA) in SupplyOn.
At the end of Forwarder Pickup Advice (FPA) creation, the Transport Data Sheet must be printed and attached to one of the handling units.
The Advanced Shipping Notification (ASN) still has to be created in SupplyOn.
Usually the Advanced Shipping Notification (ASN) is created, based on Forwarder Pickup Advice (FPA). Content of the two notifications is thus linked and the data is automatically transferred from the Forwarder Pickup Advice (FPA) to the Advanced Shipping Notification (ASN) to prevent double work. The advanced shipping notification (ASN) has two functions:
a) The Advanced Shipping Notification (ASN) updates transport relevant data in the transport management system (new)
b) The Advanced Shipping Notification (ASN) is sent to the customer ERP and thus notifies a material delivery to the customer plant
ClassicEDI suppliers
Suppliers which so far already created Advanced Shipping Notification (ASNs) in their own ERP (usually SAP or Oracle) now first need to create a Forwarder Pickup Advice (FPA) in SupplyOn.
At the end of Forwarder Pickup Advice (FPA) creation, the Transport Data Sheet must be printed and attached to one of the handling units.
The advanced shipping notification (ASN) still h be created in your own ERP system (usually SAP or Oracle).
In order to update transport relevant data in the transport management system, an additional ASN needs to be created in SupplyOn. This ASN is created, based on the FPA. Therefor both messages, FPA and ASN, are connected. The ASN will be pre-populated with data from the FPA, preventing any double work.
The following processes remain unchanged
- Cut-off times for Forwarder Pickup Advice (FPA) creation (formerly TO)
The deadline for creating transport orders must always be kept, so that BOSCH TMC can organize the truck. If you send your FPA after the cut-off time, pickup of the goods on desired date cannot be guaranteed. - Advanced Shipping Notification (ASN) creation in SupplyOn (Web EDI) / own ERP (classic EDI)
- Provision of documents for transport or customs clearance
- Stackability logic
Number of dispatch units that can be placed on top of each other - Availability of transport related information for suppliers
(carrier’s name, license number, etc.) - Handling of deviations (delays, etc.) by Bosch TMC
- It is possible to save a draft of your FPA in advance for the planned pickup day (do not miss to send the FPA in time!)
- After sending of the Forwarder Pickup Advice (FPA), the system provides a transport label, which must be attached to the handling units (e.g. pallets)
