8D Report Evaluation
An 8D report evaluation indicates the content quality of an 8D report. The supplier can evaluate and comment on the 8D steps according to predefined criteria and a customer-specific evaluation scheme.
The customer can request the evaluation in case of complex problems or critical errors. In this case, the information is displayed in tabs "Customer complaint" and "Supplier response" in the section "D8".
You can view the valuation in step D8. Both criteria and evaluation scheme are defined by the customer and are identical for all complaints by the same customer. This ensures comparability and a long-term quality control.
Once the 8D report is completed, the customer can also evaluate the 8D report and submit the result via Problem Solver.
The report evaluation information will be also displayed in the PDF download.
The function "8D report evaluation" is not used by all customers. It is activated for the following customers: Bosch, Continental.
8D Plus Report
8D Plus refers to an 8D report that contains more detailed assessments:
- Ishikawa analysis
- 5-Why analysis
- Drill-Deep analysis and Drill-Wide analysis
The customer can request an 8D-Plus report for complex problems or customer errors. If this is the case, the response type in the Customer Complaint tab is "8D-Plus". In the sections D4 and D7, it is also visible to the supplier that an 8D Plus Report has been requested.
With 8D Plus the supplier is expected to provide the following data, without which it is not possible to send the 8D report to the customer:

5-Why | Step D4: Root cause | A 5-Why analysis is performed for every possible root cause that the customer has marked as "relevant". |
Drill-Deep | Step D4: Root cause | The supplier has set up at least one root cause for every Drill-Wide category ("Non-Detection" and "Occurrance"). |
Drill-Wide | Step D7: Long-term corrective actions | The supplier has made at least one entry for the Drill-Wide analysis. |
Note: The supplier can also upload attachments with the results of the analyses instead of entering the information in Problem Solver.
Short Confirmation
The supplier only has to fill in step D1 (Team) and send it to the customer.
Short Confirmation with general actions
The supplier only has to complete step D1 and fill in one or more measures and send them to the customer.
